Description: This book is commissioned by St Paul’s Hospital to study and record the history of this Catholic private hospital with the people of Hong Kong to commemorate its 120th anniversary in 2018. This book is based on interviews with the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres, which found the hospital, former and current long-serving healthcare workers and non-medical staff in the hospital. It is supplemented with archives from the religious order, the hospital and the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong as well as a collection of precious old photographs. The book is published along with a Chinese edition《聖保祿醫院歷史足跡:關愛服務百二載》and is divided into four chapters: A Hospital Comes into Being, Post-War Recovery, Rapid Development and Entering the Second Centennial, each of which has its own difficulties and opportunities. There are also appendixes of Chronicle of Major Events, Organisational Charts and Past and Present Heads of the Hong Kong Province of the Sisters of St. Paul and Hospital Management.
